What’s a “Doradus?”

Excellent question, and we’re very glad you asked.  Our name comes from the name 30 Doradus, the scientific name from the SIMBAD Astronomical Database for what is more commonly known as the Tarantula Nebula.  It is both the largest and most active starburst region known in our galactic neighborhood called the Local Group.

The reason that we chose this specific name is because it is the ultimate symbol of creation from the most basic building blocks.  This creation is driven by advanced processes that are perfected over time, and result in the most powerful products in the universe that stand out from the background.

These principles are what we work by and what we live by.  We understand how important those qualities are when it comes to passing them on to you and your web sites.  Anyone can have an average, run of the mill site.  It takes us to make it stellar.

Our Background

Doradus Web Services operates from the heartland of the country in Southeast Kansas.  We have over ten years of experience designing and supporting web sites of all kinds, and strive to maintain knowledge and continue to practice in the most current trends and technologies.  We’re always prepared to help with writing for your site, designing a new look, or deploying a content management system like dotCMS or WordPress (don’t worry, we’re not limited to just those two!).
